Children's Events
Storytelling Events for elementary
children and their parents
The Ashland Library Children's Department is offering three (yes,
three!) Storytimes. They are geared for toddlers and pre-schoolers
who spend about 30 minutes each week listening, laughing and learning
as they interact with Children's Librarian, Perii Hauschild-Owen,
and one another.
The Preschool Story Time line-up is as follows:
Monday
evenings from 6:30 - 7:00 PM.
Tuesday
mornings from 11:30 - 12:00 Noon. Special program for babies 0-12 months at 10:45 AM.
Wednesday
mornings from 10:30 - 11:00 AM.
Wobblers on Tuesday at 10:00 AM, for babies aged 12-24 months. Books, songs and rhymes for parents and their babies.
Babies in the Library and Wobblers in the Library on Tuesdays.
Register for these classes with the children's department, 774-6995.
For the Children
Summer Reading Programs, Make a Splash.
Afternoon Board Game Club -for those 6 years and older. The 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from
June 14th-August 30th, 3:30-5:00 pm in the Gresham Room. The club will concentrate on teaching
new games you may not have seen before. Fun is the primary mission, but while having fun, kids
will be sharpening their minds with strategy, math, reading, and tactical thinking. Parents are
encouraged to join in.
Tuesday, June 15 Make something fishy at the Library 1:00-3:00 p.m. Create stuffed fish, origami
boats, bubble pictures to take home or decorate the library.
Tuesday, July 13 Bugs R Us, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Look at butterflies, giant beetles, walking sticks
and other creepy-crawly insects. Learn about the fascinating world of bugs!
Tuesday, July 20 Origami Extravaganza 3:00-4:30 Learn how to fold simple balls, cranes, and more
advanced fish, shells and other creatures.
Tuesday, July 27 Storyteller, Chris Leebrick, 10:30-11:15 Delightfully entertaining stories of
folktales, legends and whoppers!
Tuesday, August 10 Make a 5-minute book with Sophia Bogle 1:00-3:00 p.m. Create a beautiful book
to write your own story.

Monday nights 6:30 pm Tuesday mornings - 11:30 am Wednesday mornings - 10:30 am.
Wobblers and Babies in the Library continues through the summer, check for specific dates.
10:00 for the Wobblers, and 10:45 for the babies.
